Bike Manchester schedules first group ride
Ride to be held in conjunction with bicycle-themed art exhibit on May 10
April 25, 2014 - Is it art imitating life or life imitating art? Bike Manchester will hold its first group bicycle ride at 6:30pm, Saturday, May 10, beginning and ending at Studio 550, 550 Elm St.
The family-friendly ride will be held in conjunction with, and just prior to, an opening reception for “Shift: The Art of the Bicycle,” a bicycle-themed art exhibit at Studio 550, Manchester’s community-based art studio. The 4.4. mile round trip ride will proceed north on Elm Street to Webster School, whereupon it will return to Studio 550 in time for the exhibit’s opening reception at 7:30pm.
For those who do not yet own a bicycle, several bicycles will be available to borrow free of charge courtesy of Goodale’s Bike Shop. These bicycles, however, must be reserved via email by Saturday, May 3.
About Bike Manchester: Founded in 2013 by city bicyclists, Bike Manchester wants more people riding bicycles in Manchester, N.H., more often. We celebrate bicycling in the city and promote it by advocating for better bicycle infrastructure and safe bicycle riding.
Bike Manchester meets the fourth Thursday of the month at 6pm. The next meeting will be held at 6pm, Thursday, May 22, in Victory Park (weather permitting). In the event of inclement weather, the meeting will be held at the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, 54 Hanover St. All are welcome to attend.
