Why do you ride?

I ride for fun. Sometimes that means bringing fun into my morning commute, sometimes it means going for a bike ride with my kids, sometimes it means bombing through a single track series, and sometimes it means how long I can sustain a 16+mph ride. No matter which it is, though, it’s always motivated by fun.

What kind of bicycle do you ride?

I ride a Gary Fisher Wahoo circa 2003 for riding through the woods and for navigating potholes. I ride a 2010 Specialized Dolce Elite road bike for commuting and fitness rides.

What do you carry with you when you ride and how do you carry it?

I’ll always carry my water bottle on my frame and my ID in my bike shorts. Everything else (trailer for my toddler, seat for my toddler, backpack with a change of clothes and laptop, wallet, food, etc.) just depends on my ride.

Where do you ride most often?

Bedford/Goffstown/New Boston/Auburn

Do you ride year round?

No. I’m a fair weather rider. However, I take spinning classes year round. Does that count?

What’s your favorite riding experience in Manchester?

My favorite riding experience of all time was riding with my entire family to my daughter’s soccer game via the Piscataquog Rail Trail, and then to Blake’s for ice cream and home again.

What’s been your worst riding experience in Manchester?

My worst riding experience was at a stoplight on Granite Street and having a lit cigarette flicked at me. But what’s always annoying is when a driver yells at me to get on a sidewalk when I’m cycling at 16mph+. Sigh.
